TEKS Allotment and Certification 2022

Remember this must be completed prior to ordering materials in EMAT when is reopens in May 2022
Every school district and charter school must certify annually to the State Board of Education and the commissioner that students have access to instructional materials covering all Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for all required subjects, except physical education. Certification is accomplished by completing the Allotment and TEKS Certification process (revised in March 2022). Districts will be unable to order instructional materials through EMAT until the certification is received.
Steps for completing the Allotment and TEKS Certification process:
  1. The instructional materials coordinator or other district representative fills out the 2022–2023 Allotment and TEKS Certification survey form to indicate the instructional materials the district has adopted or plans to adopt for the 2022–23 school year for each grade level and core subject or core course and answer some additional questions about instructional materials and local adoption procedures. Print a sample response, if needed, to preview all required fields.
  2. Print a PDF copy of the completed survey.
  3. A copy of the survey will be sent to the superintendent’s email address provided in the survey, with instructions for submitting approval.
  4. Take the downloaded copy of the PDF to the board meeting to obtain approval. Note: board signatures are not required to be uploaded or submitted, so maintain documentation at the local level.
  5. The superintendent will make any needed edits to the original responses, then submit the final approval.
Please note: The survey may take up to 45 minutes to complete and may require consultation with content area leads or other district staff. You can exit the survey and return to complete it at a later time if necessary; your responses will be saved. If you have any questions or concerns, please submit a Help Desk ticket on the Instructional Materials and Implementation website.
